List prices: $18,590-$25,270

Dodge is launching an updated version of its Dakota midsize pickup truck for the 2008 model year that features new exterior and interior styling and a more powerful version of the optional 4.7-liter V-8. The Dakota is offered in extended and crew cab body styles.

Redesigned for 2008
List prices: Starting at $55,555

Since its 2002 introduction, incremental improvements have failed to make the first-generation Hummer H2's interior meet consumer expectations. For the 2008 model year, a restyled H2 remedies that with a high-quality interior befitting a model of its price. The seats are new, and the H2 SUV includes a full third row that seats two people, in place of the single seat offered on previous models.

The H2 SUT (sport utility truck) still has an open pickup-truck bed with a folding midgate that extends the 2.9-foot-long cargo floor into the cabin, to a 6-foot maximum. Powertrain changes are said to update the truck functionally, and minor cosmetic enhancements will set it apart from the 6-year-old first-generation H2.

Nissan Titan

Redesigned for 2008
List prices: $24,390-$38,530

When it debuted for 2004, the Nissan Titan was the first Japanese pickup truck to truly challenge the domestics in terms of sheer size. For 2008, the model grows even larger with a new long-wheelbase version. Additionally, the Titan's exterior appearance has been mildly changed, and a new PRO-4X trim level is available. Extended cab (King Cab) and crew-cab models are offered, and Desert Stone and Timberline are new colors.
