BMW's hydrogen sedan, Fiat's hybrid sensation and an eco tip

BMW Hydrogen 7

Water works
What's the newest thing on the red carpet? BMW has given keys to its Hydrogen 7 sedan - the world's first hydrogen-powered car for everyday use - to stars like Hilary Swank, Brad Pitt and Kristin Davis, in an effort to show hydrogen-powered vehicles could be viable for everyday driving in the future.

Fiat 500

Fiat of strength
The Fiat 500 isn't in North America yet, but when this European sensation arrives in 2010, it will be as a hybrid gas/electric. No word on expected fuel economy, but more than 50 miles per gallon seems likely.

Eco tip
Driving around with that ski-, bicycle- or luggage-rack on your roof increases the wind resistance of your car. Removing it when it's not needed will save fuel and reduce wind noise.
