Mustang gets a spring makeover; Vespa leads the scooter renaissance

Mustang

Updated Mustang gets back in the race
Ford's response to the Dodge Challenger and upcoming Chevrolet Camaro is to update its Mustang for spring of 2009. Although the physical changes are subtle, the front and rear fascias are new, as well as most of the car's sheet metal. The GT's 4.6-liter V8 makes 315 horsepower, 15 more than the 2009 version. The update's ride and handling improvements are also being touted.

Vespa

Vespa leads in new scooter rankings
The Vespa LX 150 and Kymco People 150 shared best overall ratings for large engine scooters (125cc to 150cc range) in Consumer Reports' first review of motor scooters since 1981. The Kymco and Vespa were both found to be well-rounded and easy-to-ride. With its big 16-inch wheels, the Kymco offered superior stability and off-the-line acceleration, while the Vespa excelled in ride quality, roominess, and build quality. The Vespa also led in the 50cc engine category with its LX 50.
