BMW Art Cars take to the road once again
Four of BMW's famous Art Cars, used as canvases by the artists Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Frank Stella and Robert Rauschenberg, are traveling the world again, leaving Manhattan's Grand Central Terminal Monday for display at three museums in Mexico. In 2006, they were sent on an extensive tour of Asia, and will continue to be exhibited worldwide through 2010. The pieces are part of a collection of 16 cars that BMW has turned over to artists to reimagine since 1975. A 17th car is being planned.
