"I LOVE MY CAR BECAUSE... after a long day I get in and it's so comfortable and quiet I just say, 'ahhh,' and can relax. It's so unique I get stopped all the time to talk about how someone in their family had the same vintage Seville. But the unusual design catches everyone's eye."

Sorry, buddy... just because it catches people's eye doesn't mean it looks good. Those vehicles remind me of the AMC Gremlin.

Your car is cool. I remember they used to be pretty common, now they're very hard to come by. My friend's dad had one....I thought the digital speedometer at the time was way awesome. Keep driving it!

One of the top 10 ugliest cars ever made, really close to the top!

Yes that is a contender for the ugliest top ten for sure.
GM has sure produced some gawd awful cars over the years.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...but those caddy styles are hideous! By the same token, I love el caminos, and most people I know can't stand them. Each to his own...;)

If you can "love" a 1983 Caddilac, you'll "love" the new GM.

Better than a FORD;
Fix Or Repair Daily.
Find On Road Dead.
Don't really consider a car built in 1983 a classic, but I guess I'm getting old.

I disagree with most of you. I think the design and style of this Cadillac was awesome. The sloped rear deck was very different and classy for the time.fzr

I think your car is great!! i think it's low of these people making negitive comment's about your car--it's a true classic and built to last, not to mention the great style of the cadillac seville whom these people can not understand, it just show's what kind of people they must be--not very nice. your car is soooo sweet, pleasure to see such a great car-- can tell by the look of it you must really look after it.
And to all the people who made all the negitive comment's regarding this car you have no taste, and if you have nothing positive to say---say nothing at all. again love the car.beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Catches my eye-------nice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be a disenter here too.
The 1980 Seville was the last car designed under GM's legendary director of design Bill Mitchell and it was one of his most flamboyant ever.
Mitchell had a penchant for crisp lines; he likened them to the creases on a well tailored suit and the '80 Seville was one his most crisply rendered shapes ever. He remarked of the design that if one is going to steal they might as well rob a bank instead of a grocery store. This comment was an acknowledgment that the bustle trunk design was lifted from the old Hooper-bodied Rolls Royces.
Although the '80 Seville was controversial in its day and clearly remains so today, it represents one of the last great Cadillacs. I view it as the end of an era when Cadillacs were glamourously designed and made a statement.
The Cadillacs that followed this Seville were smaller, more subtle and European in design and their bland designs helped to start Cadillac's sales decline that continues today. But these Sevilles and the companion Eldorado from the same era represent the end of an era of striking Cadillacs that got attention everywhere they went.

I work in design. Loved this car the first moment I saw one back in 1980. It's sleek, and gracefull. A true classic, utterly timeless.

I am happy to know you have a Seville Elegante in such GREAT shape. When I was 22 in college I bought a used one to get me to and from school. I didnt care what it was. Mine was silver on top with black on bottom and black leather. It had a sunroof and that bose sound system (radio didnt work). I sure would have like to heard it. I would have liked to have kept it. Every now and then I will see an elegante in santa fe. Regretfully, I had to sell mine for books and tuition (engine was popping in one cylinder). My present then and now is a 1989 Supercharged MR2. Yeah! What a difference. I am 40 now and drive a 1992 Buick Riviera with 195,000 miles (no oil leaks and no tears in the black leather) and a 2006 Ford F-350 crew cab dually. I will always yearn for a 1985 Silver and Black elegante with black leather, sunroof and bose sound system.
Thank you. Maybe you can share more pictures. I would like to see them.

I work in the design. We loved this car the first time I saw back in 1980. It is thin and full pardon. A true classic, timeless absolute.

Gorgeous wheels. People are programmed to like what the times and corporations tell them to like. Your car has wonderful lines. A treasure.
