When you're in the market for a new ride, is fuel efficiency more important than price? Does performance beat out extra seats for passengers? Take our poll, or leave your comments below.(Question courtesy of gasbuddy.com)

I worked in the car biz for 11 years. In my experience, Brand comes before all others in the survey above. Customers will research the other choices (fuel economy, price, rebates etc.) but will almost always choose the best vehicle from their brand line. For example, I will only buy a Honda, Toyota or Nissan. So while my research might include a GM, Ford, or Kia, I won't buy one.
This is because of two choices not included in the survey above: 5 year maintenance values and resale value. A less expensive vehicle up front or one with a better MPG rating is still going to cost more in the long run if its 5 year repairs are higher or re-sale value is lower than its competitors. Of course these days, perhaps "financial stability of the brand" should be included as a choice as well!

Other: Age
I wouldn't want a car I couldn't do the general maintenance on myself. Also, anything built after the early 70's is aesthetically unappealing to me.
