This was one of my favorite cars when I was a young man. These are rarely seen any more.

Ohmygawd - I thought I'd never see another one of those. I had a red one many years ago. Handled beautifully, fast, eye-catching. I loved it!

She obviously doesn't love her car, if she doesn't know that the correct name of that is Sonett.
By viggenkid on May 25, 2009 7:44 PM
Rafal is correct.
it is Sonett (roman numeral) III not 111 sonett pronounced so-net or "so neat" in Swedish.
if the editor had simply checked wikipedia they could have found this out.

If Phyllis or others who love Saabs would like to join other Saab fans, there is a Northwest Saab Club.

Rafal and viggenkid,
Thank you for pointing out our error. We have corrected the name of the car.

OhMiGawd - Me Too! I had a black one about 1979,
bought for $2000 --- these are a strange little beast --
Fiberglass body- felt like driving a fake Ferrari on a
go-kart frame ....
(my Black one was not original, these came in Orange, Lime green, and ?..... I'm pretty sure her White one is a re-paint, too )
A small trap door in the middle of the hood to get to simple things in the engine,
but had to unscrew bolts and lift off entire front end of body to get to spark plugs or anything else!
Thanks for posting.......

Disagree w/ the changing of plugs in the SAAB
All you needed was an extra joint just below your
elbow.. I was a SAAB mechanic for many years.
The most astounding happening was that a fellow
mechanic, who didn't know SAABs, actually removed an entire engine through that little hole.
It wasn't easy!

Love those cars. I used to have two identical 1974s, one white and one (factory color!) lavender. Wish I still had them.
