Coming soon
Mitsubishi's i MiEV will be the world's first practical electric vehicle offered by a major auto manufacturer when fleet sales begin this July in Japan. The company also recently announced it will be developed for sale in world markets, including the United States.
Eco stimulus
Vice President Joe Biden announced last month that $300 million in federal stimulus funds will help expand the nation's fleet of clean, fuel-efficient vehicles. State and local governments as well as transit agencies are eligible to apply for grants to pay for green vehicles and infrastructure for alternative fuels.
Electric fleet
Bright Automotive displayed its 100 mpg vehicle aimed at commercial and government fleets last month where you would expect -- on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. The company hopes the IDEA will be in production by 2012.

Amen. Let's get the show on the road... while we still have a show and a road to put it on.

I think it's great that we are trying to find better technologies for travel but we also must remember that even though it is an electric car, it still needs to be repowered somhow. This also means more pollution from power plants, more solor panels means more mining, and don't foget that those wind mills are metal too. We've moved forward so much to help our environment but still have a ways to go to make big changes.
Keep moving forward.
