Hot summer movie trend: motorcycles
The summer movie season is here, in all its action-packed and, increasingly, motorcycle-enhanced glory. Just since May, a pack of Ducati Hypermotards has streamed down the legs of a giant robot in "Terminator Salvation," a young Capt. Kirk has wheeled up to the Starship Enterprise on a highly-modified Buell in the new "Star Trek" and a fleet of Vespas has whizzed around Rome in "Angels & Demons." A buffed and clawed Wolverine menaced his enemies on a Harley-Davidson Panhead in "X-Men Origins," and on Wednesday Sam Witwicky will, once again, defy the evil Decepticon with the help of an MV Agusta in "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

Auto dealers group gets new leader
Mary Byrne was named 2009-2010 President of the Washington State Auto Dealers Association in May, the first woman head in the group's 90-year history. Byrne, a partner at Advantage Nissan in Bremerton, began her automotive career as a salesperson and 10 years later opened her own store, Nissan of Fife, which she sold in 2008. The WSADA's 312 dealer members employ more 22,000 people with a combined payroll of more than $1 billion. Byrne's main goal as president is to work with state and federal officials to promote the value of franchised dealers to the state.
