I have to laugh at television ads proclaiming "an economical 27 miles per gallon" - my 15 year old Ford Taurus with the big 3.8 liter engine gets 30mpg on the freeway at 60 miles per hour. The car has 130k on the odometer, and burns as cleanly as a new engine.
Way to go, Ford!
