Ford commits to more midlife makeovers
Ford says it will make more extensive changes to its vehicles between major redesigns as the company tries to build on U.S. market-share gains. An updated version of its Edge sport wagon (shown above) is part of that strategy. The changes include three additional engine options, a revamped exterior and a new cockpit that includes a touch screen. Ford previously would have made only limited revisions to a model in the middle of the typical six-year life, such as new outside lights and bumpers.
