Hertz to offer electric Nissan Leaf as rental; Infiniti considers diesel expansion

Leaf

Leaf rental
Hertz will become the first major North American rental company to offer a fully electric vehicle as part of its regular fleet when it adds the Nissan Leaf in certain markets in the U.S. and Europe beginning early next year. Hertz and Nissan have agreed to roll-out the Leaf shortly after its public fall on-sale date.

Maxima

Infiniti diesels
Infiniti is considering bringing the diesel engine already available in several models in Europe to North America to boost its line's fuel efficiency. The company's Maxima sedan (shown at right) will get the 235-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 diesel when it's released within the next two years.
