New Lexus on its way to North America; future GM trucks and SUVs will be hybrids

Lexus

Lexus addition
Lexus recently confirmed that the CT 200h premium hybrid hatchback, shown recently at the Geneva auto show, will be headed to North America. The car (shown above) will stand as Lexus's entry-level model in Europe and will come to North America for a simultaneous global launch, possibly as soon as the 2012 model year. The sporty five-door will be the second vehicle on an exclusive hybrid platform, joining the larger HS 250h.

GM Vice Chairman BobLutz

The hybrid revolution is one of many changes Lutz witnessed in a 47-year career in automaking that ends May 1.
