Hyundai luxury car comes with a bonus
Can't get your hands on an iPad? Just buy a new Equus. Hyundai is including an iPad -- loaded with a digital version of the thick owner's manual -- with the luxury sedan when it launches this fall. People who purchase the South Korean automaker's first venture into the super-premium auto market will also be able to use one of the tablet's pre-loaded applications to make service appointments. The Equus will sell for $50,000 to $60,000, and is expected to compete with the Lexus LS 460 and Mercedes-Benz S550.

Leaf announcement sparks price cuts
A price war has broken out in the electric vehicle market in Japan. After Nissan's recent announcement that its Leaf electric vehicle will sell for less than 3 million yen ($32,000), after factoring in a government subsidy, Mitsubishi almost immediately made a hefty cut in the price of its i-MiEV. It's now priced at 2.84 million yen ($30,500) with the subsidy. The Leaf goes on sale in Japan and the U.S. in December. The i-MiEV went on sale in Japan April 1 with North American sales too begin in 2011.
