Volkswagen takes two World Car awards
The Volkswagen Polo (shown) was named the 2010 World Car of the Year at the New York auto show last week, beating out the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Toyota Prius for the top spot. World car nominees must be sold on at least two continents and winners are chosen by an independent body of automotive journalists and experts. The winners in the other categories:
World Performance Car: Audi R8 V10
World Car Design of the Year: Chevrolet Camaro
World Green Car: Volkswagen Blue-Motion (Golf, Passat, Polo)
