One time I had a flat tire and i went into the trunk to get the spare and the tire well was full of tarantulas. As soon as I opened up the piece of carpet that covers it they lept at my face. I managed to fend them off with my keys and a can of wd40.

I would abandon the car. Light a match, pour gas in the car, walk away.
