i-MiEV pricing
When Mitsubishi debuts its i-MiEV electric city car in the U.S. at the beginning of next year, the company says it wants it priced below $30,000 before the $7,500 federal tax credit. This would give it a pricing edge over the Nissan Leaf, which will start at $32,780, and Chevrolet Volt, which starts at $41,000.

Improved civic
Honda hopes to boost sales of its next-generation Civic Hybrid by adding a high-output compact lithium-ion battery. The revamped Civic is set to debut about a year from now. The company is also planning a new plug-in hybrid and an electric vehicle for Japan and North America.
