Two new hybrids: Honda CR-Z coupe and Fiat with 'TwinAir' engine

A high-tech advertising blitz is set to begin for the 2011 Honda CR-Z, a two-seat hybrid coupe. Along with ads in 3-D on television, the CR-Z will take part in iPad applications for magazines like Entertainment Weekly and Wired. It will also sponsor the first Online Video Awards to be presented by Vimeo.com, be part of a game on Facebook called Car Town and appear on Hulu and YouTube.

Hybrid Fiat
Auto Express magazine in the United Kingdom reports that Fiat will develop a hybrid version of its 500 small car that combines an electric motor with the newly announced 0.9-liter "TwinAir" turbocharged gas engine. On its own, the TwinAir is expected to get 57 mpg, and with the the electric motor, it could pass the 100-mpg mark.
