Honda is world's greenest automaker; Chevrolet Volt charger for home

World's greenest
Honda has been named Greenest Automaker in the world for the fifth consecutive year by the Union of Concerned Scientists. The Japanese automaker received the lowest score (86 points) in tests focusing on fleet-wide emissions and fuel consumption. Hyundai and Toyota tied for second with 87 points. Volkswagen and Nissan rounded out the top-five automakers.

Volt charger
Chevrolet says its 240V home charging units (shown right) for the Volt will be priced at $490 before installation. Installation is estimated at $1,475. The units, supplied by SPX Service Solutions, can charge the Volt's battery in about four hours, compared with 10 hours with a standard 120V household outlet.
