What's the purpose of this poll? Why ask for only negative thoughts on electric vehicles? Why isn't there an option for "I have no concerns, I want to buy one."
Next week you should have a poll: "What's your biggest concern about remaining completely dependent on oil for transportation?"
Wm. D. Anglin: The Seattle Electric Vehicle Association is working with the state legislature to solve that problem, which is much bigger than EVs. Prius owners pay less gas tax per mile than conventional vehicles of the same weight. Vehicles running on vegetable oil pay no gas tax. We want to encourage everyone to drive more fuel efficient vehicles, but that reduces road tax revenue. We need a new way of collecting road taxes that doesn't depend on a specific fuel or suffer as we try to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
