Synthetic diesel fuel news
Synthetic diesel fuel has powered an Audi A3 TDI (pictured) in a drive from California to Washington, D.C., and back. Rentech Inc.'s RenDiesel fuel is biodegradable, odor-free and made from domestic resources. The fuel is expected to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by 97 percent over conventional diesel.

Hybrid Porsche to debut
Porsche plans to unveil its most fuel-efficient car, the 2012 Panamera S Hybrid (pictured), at the Geneva Auto Show next month. The car has 380 horsepower and gets approximately 35 mpg. It accelerates to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds and has a one-mile range in full electric mode. Suggested retail price is $95,000.
