GM's $4.5 million scholarship program to help 1,100 students
General Motors is helping students, particularly disadvantaged ones, through a $4.5 million scholarship program. Buick Achievers Scholarships offer $2,000 a year to 1,000 outstanding college-bound students. An additional 100 "national scholarships" of $25,000 will go to especially deserving students. The scholarships will focus on students interested in pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, design, marketing, accounting and finance. Mom-friendly Quest and Disney team for sweepstakes
Nissan's 2011 Quest minivan is arriving at dealerships with a starting price of $27,750 and a marketing campaign that includes a 30-second TV spot featuring the song "Mama Said." Nissan also is promoting the minivan with a tie-in to the Disney animated film "Mars Needs Moms," opening in theaters March 11. The sponsorship deal includes chances to win a Quest or several Disney prize packages. The marketing efforts are intended to show the Quest as the ultimate mom-mobile.
