Pemco poll: Jaywalkers deserve to be ticketed
Seventy percent of Washington drivers polled by Pemco Insurance agree that pedestrians who jaywalk should be ticketed. While a significant majority of respondents think that all violators -- whether driving or walking -- deserve to be ticketed for intersection offenses, those under age 35 are significantly less likely to think that drivers or pedestrians should be ticketed. The poll shows a possible connection between jaywalking and aggressive driving, as well. Those who often or sometimes jaywalk are more likely than their counterparts to engage in more-frequent aggressive behavior like speeding, tailgating or failing to yield.

Ford and Sollers plan to partner in Russia
Ford plans to team with Russian automaker Sollers to make and distribute cars in Russia, one of the fastest-growing auto markets. Sollers plans to build Fords at Russian plants, helping boost a struggling local industry. The automakers said they will have equal stakes in their joint venture called Ford Sollers. Ford and Sollers are expected to finalize their deal in June. The venture's operations could start by year's end. Car sales in Russia rose by 30 percent last year to 1.9 million. Nine of the 10 best-selling models were produced locally, while Ford Focus (pictured) was in the top five best-sellers.
