Electric focus
Mitsubishi is dropping the gas-powered Galant, Eclipse and Endeavor by 2013 in order to ramp up production of six new plug-in hybrid and battery-electric models by 2015. The company's i-MiEV plug-in electric sedan (pictured) goes on sale in North America in November.

Think big
The Think City electric plug-in car is in production at Elkhart, Ind., from kits imported from Finland. With a projected production of rate of 2,500 vehicles this year, Think has plans to eventually produce 60,000 cars a year at the plant. They're priced at $41,000, but Think wants to cut that to about $34,000 through production and design efficiencies.
