A new Ferrari that's fit for a baby seat
Ferrari is looking to get a bit practical with -- brace yourself -- a hatchback. Mind you, this is no ordinary hatchback. With a cobra-like front end and a 660-horsepower engine, the FF starts at $370,000. Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, the company's chairman, says the all-wheel drive car is intended for the man who craves a Ferrari but finds himself hauling a baby seat and sports equipment on the weekends. So far, his instincts have paid off: All 800 FFs scheduled for production this year sold out within weeks.

Ford working to link medical apps to cars
Ford is working with organizations that make medical devices and offer health care apps to use its in-car communications system, Sync, to offer occupants continuous health monitoring. The idea is to synchronize devices such as a glucometer or an app that reads pollen levels to the voice-activated MyFord Touch. The car could then, for example, use its GPS to access pollen levels -- and then command the use of recirculated air, or suggest an alternative route with better air quality. Ford says the first applications could be on board vehicles in a year or two.
