Small cars hot, but getting hard to find
Shoppers looking for small cars may want to hurry into dealerships as high gas prices plus parts shortages out of earthquake-damaged Japan add up to car shortages for smaller models. Dealers and experts say already-tight supplies of small cars will shrink even more in coming weeks, especially from Japanese automakers. That means that while consumers might find the car they want, they might not find it in the exact color and with the exact options they desire, such as a sunroof or a navigation system. They'll likely be paying more for it, too, as dealers have been able to cut rebates and other marketing lures.

Vote for a charity that'll win a Toyota
Toyota will award 100 vehicles over the course of 100 days to 100 nonprofit organizations in its "100 Cars for Good" program. Voters can pick their favorite charity on Toyota's Facebook page through Aug. 16. Each of the 500 nonprofits selected as finalists have created an online profile showcasing how the organization plans to use a new Toyota vehicle to do good in their community.
