New Chrysler small pickup is in the works
Chrysler is making progress toward a new "lifestyle" pickup for the Ram brand to replace the soon-to-be-retired Dodge Dakota. The Dakota, which will end production at the end of the current model year, was a traditional body-on-frame compact truck and not a big seller. The new truck will be lighter, more fuel-efficient and smoother riding, but still offer some utility, according to CEO Sergio Marchionne. It would compete with the Honda Ridgeline and is expected to go into production in the fall of 2013 as a 2014 model.
