Fisker Karma e-sports car and fuel-efficient Ford Explorer

Actor and environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio will be the first recipient in the U.S. of a Fisker Karma range-extended electric sports car. Fisker, which has had delays in releasing the car, expects to build 300 cars a week once its plant in Finland gets up to speed. The hybrid has a 50-mile electric range.

Ford's hot-selling Explorer is now the most fuel-efficient seven-passenger SUV on the market, delivering an EPA-certified 28 mpg on the highway with its all-new 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine. The Explorer is the first North American Ford to receive the new four-cylinder engine. EcoBoost will be offered on 90 percent of Ford nameplates by 2013.
