Formula One to return to the US in 2012
The Austin city council has voted overwhelmingly to endorse the return of Formula One racing to America, clearing the way for sponsors to collect $25 million a year in state funding. The world's most popular racing series hasn't had an American presence since the Indianapolis Motor Speedway hosted the United States Grand Prix from 2000-2007. Austin will host the event from 2012 to 2021. Construction of a new $250-million facility -- called Circuit of the Americas (shown) -- has been under way since January.

Fiat 500 to get the full Mopar treatment
Chrysler's Mopar Division -- long the purveyor of muscle car fantasies -- is turning its attention to the Fiat 500, with more than 150 new accessories to customize the cute subcompact. There is probably no better symbol of the marriage between the U.S. automaker and Italy's Fiat than a black Mopar mag wheel on a petite 500. Options for the 500 range from a $21 locking gas cap to a $1,400 body kit.
