Waste reduction
Ten of Honda's North American factories have become virtually waste-free, producing 1.8 pounds of waste per vehicle built. That's down from 63 pounds of waste per vehicle once produced. The company's 14 North American plants send less than one half of one percent of their operating waste to landfills.

Toyota record
Toyota has set a new electric-car lap record on the historic 12.93-mile Nürburgring Nordschlief race track in Germany. It's nine minutes, 1.3 seconds time is more than a minute faster than the previous record. The all-electric purpose-built racecar (shown) has a top speed of 161 mph.
