Evoque nabs two best of 2012 awards
The new Range Rover Evoque (shown) was recently named Motor Trend's 2012 Sport/Utility of the Year. The small SUV was designed to appeal to entry-level buyers new to the Range Rover brand. Motor Trend's Car of the Year will be announced Wednesday.
The Evoque was also recently named Urban Truck of the Year by Decisive magazine, a multi-cultural consumer publication. The publication also honored the Hyundai Veloster as Urban Car of the Year and the Toyota Prius Plug-in as Urban Green Vehicle of the Year.

Study: first month risky for new drivers
A new study by AAA has found teen drivers are 57 percent more likely to crash in the first month of having their license than they are after a full year of experience driving on their own. The study found the early accidents typically involved three common mistakes: failure to reduce speed, inattention and failure to yield. To help teen drivers more safely transition to driving alone, AAA suggests continued practice with parents, limiting passengers and night driving, and setting rules stricter than state laws.
