Volt owners report highest satisfaction
Chevrolet Volt buyers are the most satisfied car owners in the U.S., according to the latest owner-satisfaction survey from Consumer Reports. Ninety-three percent of survey participants who own the Volt said they would definitely buy the car again, the magazine says. That beat the second-place 91-percent satisfaction rates for the Dodge Challenger and Porsche 911 sports cars. Consumer Reports conducted its annual survey before the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened the investigation into the Volt last week after the battery caught fire after crash tests. General Motors says the Volt is safe, promising its team of engineers will show up to drain any Volt battery that is involved in an accident, thus preventing fires.

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart name
Chrysler is reaching back into history for the name of its new small car. The compact will be called the Dodge Dart, named after the 1960s small car that gearheads turned into street racers. The Dart is due in showrooms during the first half of 2012. It's an important product for the company to attract younger customers. The Dart is expected to get 40 mpg on the highway, and is based on the Alfa Romeo Giulietta but will be longer and wider.
