Durability test
Nissan inadvertently gained some valuable insight into the durability of its electric car, the Leaf, when about two dozen of them were destroyed in the tsunami that ravaged Japan in March. Smart 'truck'
Smart will unveil its For-us concept (shown) at the Detroit auto show this month. The electric mini-truck seats two and has a bed that can hold two Smart hybrid-power Ebikes. A docking station in the three-foot-long cargo area charges the bikes, and the bed floor can be lowered almost a foot for easier access.
