Kia unveils electric cars; Ford weaves plastic into fabric

Kia displayed its first two electric vehicles for the first time in North America at last month's Consumer Electronics Show. The Ray EV (left) was launched in Korea in December. It has a range of up to 86 miles on a charge. The Naimo EV concept car (right) features futuristic display panels and infrared lights.

Recycled material
The 2012 Ford Focus Electric will be the company's first to use its Repreve seat fabric, made from a blend of recycled plastic bottles and post-consumer waste. The fabric in each vehicle interior uses about 22 bottles.
