STEVE SAYS: "I LOVE MY CAR BECAUSE ... I purchased it in 2008, Oliver's sophomore year in high school, as a father/son project. We worked on it for two years and it was ready for his senior year. It has a 350-horsepower V-8 with two-speed automatic transmission, bucket seats and console shifter. We are both very attached to this car as it brings back fond memories of turning wrenches and adjusting screws."

I really enjoyed the article, it brought back memories, my first car in 1969, was a 1968 buick skylark, white, with a black landau roof, I put slotted disc wheels on it and air shocks.. I saved up one thousand dollars as a down payment and paid 1,950 dollars for it, my dad drove me crazy dickering over the price with the car dealer, I never thought we would get it, but it all worked out, loved my first car!

In 1977 I purchased my first car, a 1968 Buick Skylark Custom convertible. It was fully loaded with options, the color was brown with a whit top and int.
Had the car for 2 yrs before it was stolen. It was found a week later totally destroyed, so it had to be junked. I never forgot that car, so now 33 yrs later I just purchased another one. This one is light yellow with a white top and black int. This one doesn't have that many options on it, but purchased it from the original owner. It spent its entire life in the desert of Arizona, which is where I live, so no rust on her and still has the original paint! It sure feels good to get behind the wheel of this car again......I really missed it.
