"I LOVE MY TRUCK BECAUSE ... it was passed down to me from my grandpa. I used to sit on his lap when I was about 6 years old and drive it with him around the block! My dad took his first driver's test in this truck when he was my age, and together we fixed it up. This is one good-lookin' ride, and I love to drive it down to Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park and sit on the tailgate with my cousin. This truck will definitely stay in the family for a long, long time!"

Good for you Ms McCone. Sure wish I had my Dad's 67 Ford, myself. Keep that carb dialed in!

After driving a Lumina and my step dad's Olds (it's NOT my father's Oldsmobile!) I bought a used 96 Dakota 4x4. Huge miles, 225,000! From a family friend who bought a lower mileage truck. I love my truck. Happier driving it than I've been driving anything for the past 20 years.
It has a V8, kind of a 'pony' truck. Crappy mileage, but smooth! And lots of power.
And when it needs a motor, trans, transfer case, or U joint's, guess what? I can fix it!
Nice that the young woman has a family connection to her truck. Keep it! It's worth more than any money you could get for it!

I have a 1970 Gmc 2500 that I have used as a work truck since I bought it very used in 1983. In the last ten years I have replaced all the mechanical systems. This past year,I redid the interior , found an old truck bed and sanded it forever, undercoated the bed, replaced one of the doors, found a paint shop that painted the whole truck ,replaced the badges, side lights, the tailgate, both bumpers( I have the same front bumper as you),and just replaced the driveshaft. I love my truck! It drives great and will haul anything. In my landscape business it has been a workhorse and help me make a good living. I plan to leave the truck to my daughter upon my passing. I loved your truck and story.
