AAA: Holiday travel to increase this year
AAA projects 93.3 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home during the year-end holidays, an increase of 1.6 percent from the 91.8 million people who traveled last year. Ninety percent of travelers will travel by automobile, representing 26.7 percent of the total U.S. population. The 2012 year-end holiday travel period is defined as from Dec. 22 to Jan. 1.

Camaro production to move to Michigan
n
General Motors says it will move production of the Camaro from its Canadian plant operation in Oshawa, Ontario, to a plant in Michigan. The Camaro is currently made at GM's Oshawa flex plant (shown), which also produces the Buick Regal and, soon, the Cadillac XTS. The Canadian Auto Workers' most recent contract, ratified in September, guaranteed production of the Camaro in Oshawa until the end of the current-generation model, though GM didn't give a timeline for the move. The company says that "lower capital investment and improved production efficiencies were key factors" in the move.
