Forecast: 2012 most expensive for gas
This year will go down as having the highest average price for gasoline ever, according to GasBuddy. "We did the math," says Patrick DeHaan, the company's senior petroleum analyst, "and the numbers don't lie. Last year's average price of gasoline nationwide was $3.51 per gallon." The 2012 yearly average is running at $3.63. The national numbers were elevated by supply problems in California during the summer and Hurricane Sandy.
