Big, unique Checker Medicar puzzles onlookers

OWNER: Jeff Jobson, Seattle
OCCUPATION: Medical clinic receptionist
CAR'S MAKE AND MODEL: 1971 Checker Medicar (named Button)
"I LOVE MY CAR BECAUSE ... she is big and unique. I have loved Checkers since childhood, and when I had the opportunity to get this one in 1997, I was overjoyed. Driving Button is like being in a parade, and it's always fun to have folks guess what it is, exactly. She looks unusual even for a Checker. Button got her name from my daughter, who at the age of 2 unscrewed one of the dashboard knobs and made it disappear. That's when she suggested I name the car Button. They made Medicars [to carry people in wheelchairs] for only three years, with a total run of 98. Button is No. 97."
