Subaru advertising goes to the dogs
Subaru will air its "Dog Tested, Dog Approved" campaign during Animal Planet's "Puppy Bowl IX," a two-hour program that airs 3 p.m. Sunday. Featured will be Grant Weber, a sales associate who sells Subaru vehicles to dogs. The ad dovetails with Subaru's Dog Matchmaker campaign, an online function that recommends specific Subaru models when owners list their dog's breed, weight and lifestyle.

'The Force' chosen as top Super Bowl ad
A Volkswagen ad starring a pint-sized Darth Vader using "The Force" on a Passat has been named the Best Super Bowl Car Commercial of All Time by online automotive resource Edmunds.com. The 30-second spot, which debuted during the 2011 Super Bowl XLV, featured a 6-year-old dressed as the "Star Wars" villain miraculously starting the vehicle with his Jedi mind (and a little remote assistance from his father). The ad was so popular that it generated 8 million YouTube views in the days before the ad aired on television.
