Concept car: Ford plans redo of Escort for China

Ford Escort
Ford stopped making the Escort for the U.S. market in 2003, but it's looking to bring the brand to Chinese customers. This concept debuted at the Shanghai auto show in April. The Escort aims to blend functionality, roominess, quality and fuel economy into a compact car, the fastest-growing segment among Chinese buyers. Its slightly more upright grille and elongated, jeweled headlamps were designed to resemble the lucky figure 8.
