Chrysler building new midsize car; Volkswagen to resurrect luxury Phaeton

New Chrysler midsize
Chrysler will start selling a completely new midsize car during the first quarter of next year, company executives announced last week. The car will replace the aging Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. Chrysler officials gave few details about the new car. It likely will be built with components jointly designed with Fiat.

VW Phaeton to return
Volkswagen plans to bring back the Phaeton luxury sedan to the U.S. as it looks to boost sales. The Phaeton, the brand's most expensive model, could be back as soon as January. It was pulled seven years ago because of weak sales.
