Justice League Kia raises $41K for charity
A special-edition Justice League Kia Sorento sold for $41,075 last week during an eBay auction to raise funds for DC Entertainment's "We Can Be Heroes" hunger-relief effort. Designed by comic-book artist Jim Lee, the Sorento debuted at the San Diego Comic-Con last month. It's the final car in Kia's series of eight superhero cars designed for the campaign. Other character cars were Batman, The Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Cyborg, Superman and Wonder Woman.

Many don't pursue insurance discounts
Thirty percent of drivers aren't receiving any car-insurance discounts, says a new InsuranceQuotes.com report. Only 33 percent of those surveyed knew that receiving statements by email could save them money. Other common discounts drivers might be missing: bundling car insurance with another type of insurance; passing a defensive-driving course; driving a car with certain safety features such as anti-lock brakes; belonging to the military or another group; or maintaining at least a B average while in college or high school. To save, "Start by calling your insurance company, because you won't automatically receive all the discounts you're entitled to," says Laura Adams of InsuranceQuotes.com.
