Bond car auctioned for almost $1 million
The submersible Lotus Esprit (shown) used for underwater scenes in the 1977 James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me" recently sold at auction for $973,500. The sale was part of RM Auctions' $34 million car auction in London this month. The Lotus is the only functioning submarine version filmmakers made for the Bond flick, though the automaker built two complete cars and six additional body shells for filming.
