Plug In Day comes to Eastside; a look at Web-shopping habits

Saturday event made for fans of plug-ins
Owners and would-be owners of plug-in vehicles can celebrate the cars during National Plug In Day Saturday, presented locally at Nissan of the Eastside, 11815 N.E. Eighth St., Bellevue. The dealership will have more than 100 plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles on display, plus catered food and giveaways. The event is from 1-5 p.m. For more information, visit pluginamerica.org.

Half of Web shoppers open to any brand

An analysis of how new-car shoppers use digital devices for vehicle research found that 50 percent of all buyers are open to any brand when they begin the process, and that 54 percent of Gen Y buyers will consider any brand that meets their needs. The J.D. Power New Autoshopper Study found that 98 percent of automotive Internet users visit manufacturer sites, 83 percent visit dealer sites, 80 percent go to third-party sites and 7 percent use social-media sites for research.
