Survey gauges buyer demand for electrics
A survey of consumers' interest in plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) says 6.9 percent of shoppers are "very likely" or "somewhat likely" to purchase or lease a PEV in the next year. Market-research firm Zpryme led the survey of 1,000 people, which also found that the age groups most likely to purchase a PEV are 18-24 and 25-34. Males were more likely to buy than females, and those in the Northeast and South were more likely to buy than those in the West. For details, visit smartgridresearch.org.
