Toyota ups Corolla exports; teens can win Kelly Clarkson show



Corollas are going to 18 more countries
Toyota will begin sending its U.S.-built Corolla sedans (shown) to 18 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean starting next year. The company says production of the vehicles will start at its Tupelo, Miss., plant in April. Toyota expects to export more than 7,500 of the sedans to Latin America and the Caribbean during the first sales year. Toyota hit its all-time export record of more than 124,000 U.S.-built vehicles to 21 global markets in 2012, an increase of 45 percent over the previous year.

Kelly Clarkson behind teen-driving program

Singer Kelly Clarkson (shown), who has teamed with State Farm for the Celebrate My Drive program, will be performing in December for the two grand-prize winners of the teen safe-driving campaign. Until Oct. 17, teens can register their school to win the concerts or grant money at celebratemydrive.com. The site also offers information about safe driving. The program is timed to lead up to National Teen Driver Safety Week, Oct. 20-26.
