Plug in at Lake Chelan
Campbell's Resort just got Lake Chelan Valley's first charging station for electric vehicles. The station was funded by the resort in collaboration with Plug-In North Central Washington, a group that promotes the use of alternative-fuel vehicles. The station is next to Campbell's Stehekin Ballroom in the resort's main parking lot. Guests and the public can use it for free.

Record for Range Rover
Sand didn't stand in the way of Land Rover's Range Rover Sport, which recently set a speed record for crossing Rub' al Khali, aka the Empty Quarter, the largest sand desert in the world. Starting in Wadi Adda Wasir in Saudi Arabia and ending at the border of the United Arab Emirates, the vehicle covered 527 miles in 10 hours, 22 minutes as part of a durability challenge. The 2014 Range Rover (shown) was standard except for an underbody protection plate.
