Consumer Reports names Prius top value; Mazda an mpg star, says EPA

CR names Prius top value
The Toyota Prius liftback (shown)topped Consumer Reports' annual list of vehicles that give buyers the best bang for their automotive buck. The magazine says the Prius has the best combination of reliability, resale value, fuel economy and driving performance of the cars it measured.

EPA: Mazda in mpg lead
Mazda is the most fuel-efficient automaker in the U.S., according to the Environmental Protection Agency's recent report on Light Duty Fuel Economy Trends. Mazda came out on top for the highest fleet-wide fuel economy (27.5 mpg) and the lowest carbon dioxide emissions among 11 automakers. Mazda has achieved the highest fuel efficiency without offering a hybrid or electric vehicle.
