Free classes teach how to find, fix leaks
Four free classes at South Seattle Community College will help motorists check for auto leaks and learn how to fix them so that leaks don't harm the environment. Experts at the college will inspect your car and offer fluid-leak tips and an oil-spill-cleanup kit. The Seattle Public Utilities' Automotive Maintenance Program is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, Feb. 15, March 15, April 19 and May 17. To register for one, call 206-684-3936 or visit seattle.gov and search for "car tips."

Site reveals best days to snag low gas prices
Another reason to love weekends: It's the best time for Washington drivers to buy gas, according to GasBuddy.com, a fuel-price information site. Its analysis of trends over the past four years found that 65 percent of states saw lower prices during the weekend, which included Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Last year, Saturday was the money-saving day in Washington, but that has been Sunday, Friday or Monday in previous years.
